Atlanta’s Peer Metros in Housing Stability: Median Home Values
In comparison with the Louisville dynamic, the median home value numbers for Atlanta’s peer metros are more variable. The range of values for Louisville’s peers is approximately $72,000, while the range for Atlanta’s peers is $239,000. The graph below shows that the metro in closest overall proximity to Atlanta has a similar median home value (MHV), but it is the third overall closest metro that has the MHV closest to Atlanta’s. Additionally, the metro that is second closest to Atlanta across all of the measures had an MHV that was only fourth closest to the Atlanta MHV. The most distant MHV out of these five belonged to the metro that is fifth closest overall.

These results as well as the differences in the Louisville and Atlanta pattern suggest that Atlanta is a relatively unique metro area when it comes to its housing stability context.
