Atlanta’s Peer Metros in Housing Stability: Median Household Income
In our previous post, we mentioned how signs are indicating that Atlanta is a unique metro, especially in comparison to Louisville. This finding emerged from looking at the expansive range of values that are associated with Atlanta and its peer metros compared to Louisville and its peers. And examining the median household income figures among Atlanta and its peers only confirms what we’ve witnessed so far. The graph below shows that while this particular range of values is tighter than the MSA population and median home value ranges, there is still some visible variability. In fact, the total range is $16,330, a value that towers over the $4,153 range found for Louisville and its peers.
All that said, the metro with the median household income (MHI) value closest to Atlanta’s—is the metro third-closest to Atlanta overall. The peer metro with the MHI furthest from Atlanta’s lands fifth on the overall list. The metro that is first on the overall list has the MHI that is second closest to Atlanta’s value.

We can’t wait to share more about these housing stability metrics and values. Stick around for more updates!
