Happy Data Release Day!

Today, a lot of data enthusiasts and analysts are celebrating the release of 2024 American Community Survey (ACS) Five-Year Estimates data. The datasets tied to this new release are critical for understanding neighborhood dynamics such as rental and home-buying affordability, the number of cost-burdened households, and the demographic characteristics of who lives in which neighborhoods.

I am excited to lead the process of curating datasets–using this new batch of data as the baseline—in service to organizations who value robust, reliable, and policy-relevant data. These datasets will be curated to build insights on questions such as: 1) how should we characterize neighborhoods if housing stability is the primary focus or if core socioeconomic realities are the focus?, 2) which neighborhoods are affordable to whom?, and 3) what are the characteristics of the people living in which neighborhoods? Additionally, we are excited to offer a new AMI-focused dataset under the Housing Stability umbrella and more datapoints for the Intermediate and Premium offerings under the Core Socioeconomic Realities umbrella.

We look forward to sharing more as the insights accumulate. Be sure to connect with us here for a more meaningful experience.
