Louisville's Peer Metros in Housing Stability - Median Household Income

The third metric in our analysis that we used to find Louisville’s peer metros was median household income, which powers housing affordability. Among Louisville and its peers the range of values is tight around this metric (see the graph below). In fact, the total range is a minuscule $4,153. This tight range of values suggests that Louisville has a lot of commonality with its peer metros, which strengthens our ability draw firm conclusions from sound comparison procedures.

Within this tight range, the metro with a median household income (MHI) closest to Louisville’s ($74,305) is the one that is second-closest to Louisville overall. The metro with the MHI furthest from Louisville’s ended up being fourth-closest to Louisville when all was said and done. The metro that is closest to Louisville overall is the fourth closest for this specific metric.
